losing it

I made a list the other day, at Nic's urging, because I tend to leave at least one of the five items below (which are on the list) at my office:
  • phone
  • wallet
  • cash
  • charger
  • keys
The list is on a post-it stuck to the wall next to the office door. Currently also in my office are the following two items: my phone, and my wallet. I, however, am at home.

Clearly I fail at life.

Going for a run. Hope I can manage to avoid getting killed.

I had the dual problem of having seperate phone and PDA. (I had been a long time palm user, which complicated things.) Eventually I found a good opportunity to jump to a PDA phone (alas, WIndows Mobile) and haven't looked back.

At least now when I lose my PDA, I can just call it and follow the ring.

I hear ya. I got around that problem by not having a cell phone until recently. I want to buy a Palm Centro, but I fear that Palm is going to go belly up within a couple years and I'll be stuck. Too bad; I've been using my Handspring for 7 years. I'll get by with Tracfone for now.

I will sit here and quietly wait for the day your phone, wallet, cash, charger and keys make it home without you.

Or maybe you just need a purse? :p

Do you change at work, simply like emptying your pockets while there, or something else?

That seems to be the consensus. :)

How was your birthday? Among the things I forgot yesterday, I totally forgot to wish you a happy one, because I suck.

Step one: Get a seperate charger for home and the office. Odds are good in this day and age that your phone can just charge off a USB port in the office. This makes the office charger relatively cheap.

Your list just got reduced by one!

Won't you be my neighbor?

You remind me of Morgan. I told him about this post last night.

Me: "I read this, and I laughed."
Him: "Ummm, I can imagine why."
Me: "Yeah, before you I would have read it, rolled my eyes and thought "dumbass!" but now I read it and thought "how cute.""
Him: "And then ... "dumbass.""

But no, not really, just cute. Also, this is why I always keep my keys in my right pocket and phone in the left one. Then I just have to pat the appropriate pocket to make sure it's not empty!

Having a purse doesn't solve everything, aside from just forgetting the purse there's the issue that if you take something out of it, it then becomes maybe even easier to forget because you have the *purse* and don't think about what might not be in it.

It's going ok, hopefully I can stick with it despite the stiffness and shin splints and make it regular. I've only gone a handful of times, each time I try to push for a bit longer on the running part, and each time my shins hurt pretty much throughout.

I'm not on any particular program, but I will probably get on the C25K one soon.
