Nic and I found this last night while doing some furniture shopping. Yikes.

perhaps they have taken a cue from their name and were too lazy to amend the ad

...I am inspired to write to them about this for some reason

I had to read the comments to see what was bothering you. I read it as "It's your home now, so you can go ahead and put your feet up." LaZboy as the throne of the king in his castle. Or, in this case, queen.

In that case, there should be an "It's" preceding "Your," and "now" strikes me as irrelevant.

Oh, I read the "now" as completely relevant, part of that "woman-empowering" thing that shows up in marketing from time to time. Like in the "Woo-hoo! You can smoke now!" cigarette ads.

"Woo-hoo! You can sit in the LaZBoy now! Too bad you had to divorce his ass first. But hey, you got a house AND a LaZBoy out of it. So, woo-hoo, put your feet up!"

(Not saying that's what they MEANT to say, but it is what I read it as.)

I also read that as a possibility.

I also read it like this. Which made me wonder, why is it her home now? Whose home was it before? How did it become hers? That smile of hers looks too innocent for it to have involved anything devious, but that's probably exactly what she wants you to believe. Maybe she just signed the papers on a divorce settlement which gives her full ownership of the house while her ex-husband is forced to rent a rat-infested apartment and eat bologna sandwiches for dinner. Or, maybe it's more sinister. She doesn't look like the type who is capable of hacking a family of four to death with a machette, burying them in the basement, and then relaxing in their recliner for a few weeks, posing as "cousin Ruth from Florida, just here to watch the house while they're on vacation" whenever neighbors stop by. But it's always the one we least suspect, isn't it? So, I reiterate my question: how did it become her home?

Hahaha ... I had a mental picture of some crazy person running around claiming people's houses, Papa Lazarou-style.

Awesome.

You're going to live in a chair now? I guess times are rough, but even if that's what they meant to say, they didn't need a period.
