the tragically not-hip

Rockin the 34-32s today at work. They're years out of style; although they don't quite hearken back to the heyday of acid-wash baggy-fit tapered-leg silvertabs, this is some old denim.

So sure they ride way high on the hips, and the horizontal fadeline above the knees silently betrays an era of behangered neglect, but dammit THEY FIT AGAIN.

Uh-oh.

Does that mean they fit again because you are shrinking down enough to wear them or you have bulked up enough to wear them?
I am slowly gaining back all the weight I lost post-breakup. Sadly, my middle is getting bigger so now the 32 waist does not slide off easily. *sniff*

Re: Uh-oh.

Shrinking down. The increase over time, with the exception of a few periods coinciding with the advent of some fad diets, is pretty linear.

And I keep a lot of my old clothes. This means that the more in shape I get, the less fashionable I will dress, until I breach the "retro" threshold and my coolness will briefly spike again.

Yay! Even if they look stylishly unhip, that's encouraging!

Surely you have longer than a 32 in inseam, no?

I'm somehow flattered, but nope. That dimension of my pants size has stayed consistent for many years.

You must be all back then, cuz you're tall like me (taller, right?) and I wear a 35 inseam.

I didn't know men had "skinny" jeans! I thought that was a chick thing.

I used to joke that the BB logo for Bugle Boys really stood for Bubble Butt. I had many a pair back in the day.
