My goals are weight loss (I've put on about 15 pounds since L and I broke up), and training up to play racquetball again ... not just goofing around on the court and hitting the ball around, but serious enough about it to compete. I've been playing since I was 15, and I've been wanting to get back into it for a while now, but finding places to play is a little difficult.
So, last week's gym sessions were trying out a club not too far from my house, which has racquetball courts. One of the membership perks would be the use of a sister club downtown, which I visited on a weeknight at about 6pm -- it was surprisingly dead, and there were no waits for any equipment.
I'm going to buy a membership today. My plan is to work out at least two evenings per week, after work, and at least once on the weekends. I won't be riding my bike to work much for the rest of this year, since the mornings are getting darker, colder, and rainier, but the downtown club is a 5-minute walk from my office, and the other club is a free bus ride from downtown. This will also give me some more reading time while commuting -- another habit that I'd like to revive.
