damn these mystery keys on my keychain

I've forgotten what they're for, but I can't throw them away, because as soon as I do, I'll need them. I tried keeping them in a little box, but then of course I forget where I put the little box, and so I start another little box, and so forth. And there always seems to be at least one on my keychain, at all times (currently there are two), even though I take them off from time to time once I realize they're mystery keys.

It strikes me that some of the keys in some of my little boxes, if they are still in my possession, may have been with me for perhaps 20 years. I can't think of that many things I've kept for that long, so it seems particularly ludicrous that some of the things I have kept for that long have been things for which I haven't known the correct use for almost the entire time they've been in my possession.
