furry baby boy

"It does that for new parents!" explained the cashier, in response to my puzzled look. The register had just spit out about eight coupons for baby goods.

I still must have had a blank look on my face. "This must be the first time you've bought baby food using your reward card," she offered.

I guess it was. I nodded, and she grinned broadly.

"Is it a boy or a girl?" She was really, genuinely excited. "A ... boy," I answered.

"Well, congrats!" She handed my receipt and handful of coupons, beaming.

I didn't have the heart to tell her I bought it for our cat, who's been fussy about his food lately, and loves this stuff. :)
