begorra

Today's word of the day, my calendar tells me, is purportedly an interjection of Irish origin "used as a mild oath." A mild oath? An Irish mild oath? Psshhhhhh.

This morning I found an unprecedented $3.02 on the way to work. This mini pot o' mostly-zinc consisted of three separate finds:
- a dime, a nickel, and six pennies by the bench near the fountain in the plaza by my apartment,
- one quarter, three dimes and a penny ON the bench in the MAX stop near the plaza, and
- a pile of NINE quarters right off the sidewalk in front of St. Mary's Academy.

Given that the major hauls were found on public transportation lines, I'm thinking people count out bus fare while they're waiting and then accidentally leave it behind. Begorra!

Rafting was so sweet yesterday. It was about 100 in the Gorge and the water was about 40. The river was low, the rapids weren't extreme or anything, but I am beat UP. :)
