happy new year

Happy 2006, LJ peeps.

The weekend was loooooong and relaxing. With me unable to do anything about the OED's f**kup until today, I didn't even THINK about studying. Instead, I spent the weekend sleeping in with The Hang, goofing around with friends, and doing a lot of yardwork.

NYE started off with dinner with The Hang, beansbouf, imperialhubris, lady_b_ashley, Steve's brother, and a couple of Betsy's friends, at Taqueria Nueve. Food was great and company was better, but we had to rush before the festivities ended to meet a couple of my Salem friends and get to a co-worker's house for a nice, mellow thirtysomething couples' night of games, drinks, and of course the group sex (kidding).

Miraculously, despite three beers, a glass of sangria, several glasses of scotch, and the obligatory midnight champagne shot, I evaded a hangover the next morning. In fact, we both did. Nonetheless, after a late brunch at Stepping Stone, The Hang and I essentially vegged for most of the day, then caught the tail end of happy hour at Harrison and saw Brokeback Mountain (believe it or not, I had no idea it was an Ang Lee film until the credits rolled). Other folks have given better reviews than I could write, so I'll just say that we both loved it.

Anyhoo. Yes, I made resolutions. No, I'm not writing about them. :P

Some of your recent entries aren't showing up on my f-page, so dispatches from the Dog have been a little lax. But today I'm back at work, and that means catching up on everyone's entries! Snarky comments and bad puns will be showing up in your inbox soon! I know you've been concerned! wOOt!
